The Harvard-Radcliffe Gilbert and Sullivan Players’ Spring 2019 production follows two gondoliers, Marco and Giuseppe, who have believed they are brothers their entire lives. It comes as a shock to all when Don Alhambra, the Grand Inquisitor, reveals that one of them is the heir to the throne of Barataria, and was married in infancy to the beautiful Casilda. But which gondolier is the true heir? Further complicating matters, Casilda has fallen in love with the lowly drummer, Luiz. During the search for the identity of the King of Barataria, secrets are revealed that will change the course of our protagonists’ lives forever.
