Accessible Entrances: Sanders Theatre is accessible on the floor level with ramps at both entrances to the Memorial Transept (lobby). The north entrance is off Kirkland Street and the south entrance is off Cambridge Street.

Accessible Seating: Accessible seating is on the Orchestra level only, sold at all price levels based upon availability. There is no elevator to the Mezzanine or Balcony. Note: the Theatre does not provide wheelchairs.

Accessible Restrooms: Restrooms are located on the lower level of Sanders Theatre in Memorial Hall. There are stairs and an elevator leading downstairs at the south entrance (Cambridge Street). The restrooms are accessible.

Accessible Parking: There is no parking at Sanders Theatre. Patrons may be dropped off in the circle driveway on the Kirkland Street side of Sanders Theatre near the accessible north entrance, at 6 Kirkland Street. We encourage patrons to park at either the Broadway Garage or the 52 Oxford Street Garage. The Broadway Garage is accessible with spaces on the first floor; there are curb cuts at all crosswalks between the garage and the Theatre. The 52 Oxford Street Garage is fully accessible with elevators and accessible parking spaces; there are curb cuts at all crosswalks between the garage and the Theatre. If necessary, a limited number of Accessible Parking Spaces may be available in a nearby location by advance arrangement only, though it is extremely difficult to honor requests received less than 2 business days prior to an event. Please plan ahead and contact the office as early as possible. Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs): Sanders Theatre is equipped with assistive listening devices for hearing enhancement. Please check with the box office manager or production manager to borrow a device. Our Sennheiser Infrared Assistive Listening System devices include both Sennheiser RI 100-J stethophone receivers and EZT 100 Induction Neckloops for use with hearing aids. Available 30 minutes prior to show.

Service Animals: Sanders Theatre allows Service Animals in the Theatre to accompany an event attendee. Service Animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered unless these devices interfere with the Service Animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices. A Bank of America ATM is located in the lower level of Sanders Theatre in Memorial Hall. From the floor level adjacent to the Transept (lobby), there are stairs leading downstairs at the south entrance (Cambridge Street). The ATM is located around the corner from the stairs and elevator.

The ATM processes cash withdrawals only.

The Sanders Theatre Box Office is located in a corridor adjacent to the Memorial Transept (lobby), at the north entrance by Kirkland Street. The box office is open for day of show performances only, usually 90 minutes prior to showtime, and closes 30 minutes after start time.

The Box Office accepts American Express, MasterCard, Visa and cash. There are no refunds, returns or exchanges.

 
 

Sanders Theatre in Memorial Hall sits on a city block formed by Cambridge Street, Oxford Street and Kirkland Street. Travel to the Theatre is by sidewalks or paved paths through the Harvard campus, as well as car, campus shuttle and public transportation. While Memorial Hall is an historic landmark, other nearby buildings include the Science Center, Lowell Lecture Hall, Adolphus Busch Hall, William James Hall, Gund Hall and the Cambridge Fire Department.

The Management of Memorial Hall, in keeping with state and local government and University efforts to reduce traffic congestion, urges patrons to use public transportation when attending events in the Harvard Square area. The Harvard Square stop on the Red Line of the MBTA subway system is a five minute walk from Sanders Theatre and is well-lit.

Seating begins approximately 30 minutes prior to showtime. Please arrive at Sanders Theatre at least 10 minutes before the show. Any latecomers will be seated at the discretion of Management. Latecomers should anticipate waiting in the Transept (lobby) until an appropriate pause in the performance.

Lost and found is located in the Administrative Office of Memorial Hall, basement room 027. To inquire, please call 617.496.4595 or email memhall@fas.harvard.edu. Management is not responsible for lost or stolen property.

There is no coat check at Sanders Theatre. Bags or backpacks that do not fit on your lap or under the seat (15" high by 18" wide) are not permitted. Please plan accordingly.

There is no photography, audio or audiovideo recording permitted in Sanders Theatre.

There is no parking at Memorial Hall. For select events at Sanders, nearby parking is available at the Broadway Garage or 52 Oxford Street Garage. Parking is from one hour pre-performance to one hour post.

Broadway Garage: The Broadway Garage is located at 7 Felton Street, between Broadway and Cambridge Streets. Patrons tell the attendant that they are attending a Sanders Theatre event. They receive a swipe ticket which they will use to get back into the garage after the show, and which they will use to exit. The distance is 0.2 miles or a 5 minute walk to Sanders.

Oxford Street Garage: The 52 Oxford Street Garage is located at 52 Oxford Street, at the intersection of Everett and Oxford Streets. Parking is located in an underground, attended garage. The distance is 0.3 miles or a 6 minute walk to Sanders.

Please note there is no elevator to the Mezzanine or Balcony at Sanders Theatre. There is one flight of stairs to the Mezzanine and two flights of stairs to the Balcony. The Orchestra is at floor level.

For your safety, please note the location of the nearest emergency exit.

The will call table in the Memorial Transept (lobby) is staffed by the box office at least one hour prior to showtime for distribution of pre-purchased tickets held for pickup on the day of the event. Attendees should have their emailed receipt or their billing address ready to confirm pickup.
